What kind of culture, arts, and sports does Northwest Arkansas have?
Northwest Arkansas can be a great place for people who love the arts, music, or sporting events. There are lots of different things to do, like visiting art museums and galleries, going to live music shows, watching plays and dance performances, live concerts, football games, basketball games, and more.
One of the most famous places to visit is the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. It is located in Bentonville and was made possible by the Walton Family Foundation the people behind Walmart. For outdoor concerts, you will not want to miss the AMP. You will see the best performers of every genre. Another popular event the area is the Bikes Blues and BBQ festival, which is a motorcycle rally that happens every year and brings in upwards of 300,000 attendees of bikers and visitors from all over the country. This event happens during the fall when you will typically get to see the colors starting to change on the trees.
Do you like sports? The University of Arkansas and the Arkansas Razorbacks are an integral part of our sports entertainment. As soon as you hear the famous Hog Call, it's hard to turn away! Our passionate fans are unparalleled, and they make game days shine. On football weekends, it's nearly impossible to miss the crimson and white flags proudly flying around town.
The Razorbacks have been a part of this area for over 100 years. They've had their share of wins, losses, and memorable moments. Some of their best seasons include 1964 when they won a national championship and 2011 when they beat #1 ranked LSU in triple overtime. Other greats include Heisman Trophy winner Barry Sanders and NFL first-round pick Tyler Wilson.
